  • Description
    • ANRL was founded on September 3, 1979 to preserve the history of the social nudist movement in North America and throughout the world. It is a repository of material rather than a circulating library although we now allow members to borrow books and videos that are in the “Circulating” category for 1 week. Visitors may read or view most of the collection in the Library. The Library is enjoyed most by individuals and groups who treasure on-going nudist activities, and who wish to participate in a sincere effort to preserve the unique history of the movement.
    • ANRL is located on the grounds of Cypress Cove Nudist Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, next to the the tropically landscaped pool area. The setting provides the visitor a vivid memory of our identity with sunlight, fresh air, relaxation and a oneness with nature. The Library is currently open Monday through Saturday, except holidays, from 1 PM to 4 PM. Visiting researchers, scholars and students of nudist history are welcome to contact the Library by phone, Email anrl@anrl.org or mail to arrange a convenient visiting time which could be any time someone from the Library staff is available. The Library is a clothing optional facility; however, to maintain the integrity of our aging documentation, it is air conditioned to a temperature in the mid to lower 70’s F.
    • ANRL is a non-profit organization operated entirely by volunteers. It operates independently of any other organization and is supported by memberships, sales of surplus magazines, books and videos in the collection, cash donations and contributions of materials. Donations are tax-deductible. Library members and volunteers enjoy a 20% discount on suggested donations for surplus documents. We are will into a multi-year project to convert the entire American Nudist Research Library collection to digital format. Scanning and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the first step in transforming the Library into a true “Research Library.” We are also working on methods in which researchers can search the entire digital database with modern computers equipped with modern software.
